Mission Statement and Goals

Victims before criminals - When a conflict of interests arises between the rights of a victim and a criminal, the victims rights takes precedence even when, in its fulfillment, the rights of the criminal may not only be ignored but actively infringed upon.

Justice before legalism - The law should stand to serve justice not hinder it. If the mere application of law undermines apparent justice, then the legal principle should be considered subservient to the dictates of justice.

Victims of crime eligible for legal aid assistance to pursue justice.

A complete overhaul of the criminal justice system - The justice system to be predicated on the three prioritized goals of crime reduction and prevention; siding with victims of crime and the law-abiding; and the re-instatement of punishment, shame, and retribution as legitimate means to deter re-offending.

Assets of those punishable by imprisonment for a term of three years or longer are to be seized for victim support unless proven to be lawfully obtained.

Everyone accused and charged of crime will have a limited right to legal aid - those found guilty will have the full cost of their legal aid bill as a debt to be paid and/or worked off during their prison term except and unless, they have pleaded guilty.

Fundamental changes to the criminal justice system to be assented by referendum.

Opinion

Minority grievances.

It seems flavour of the month for minorities to bleat about discrimination of any sort they can dream up to court free publicity for their cause. They get a ready audience from politicians looking to either point score or for a bandwagon to jump on. Whilst the media acknowledges them their life span is usually short lived – thankfully.

Obesity has been the bandwagon various groups have been trumpeting of late. The nanny state is blamed for everything from the school tuck shop chips to fast food outlets. Politicians, particularly the overweight ones look everywhere except in the mirror for someone else to blame. How come they aren’t setting an example, after all it is their voters that are the ones eating the junk food, not getting exercise and bleating about their problems. Just to waste more time and money one of our politician’s is going to bring a private members bill before the house. I also see Britain is considering bring in a ‘fat’ tax, spare me the agony. The simple answer is get off your acre and get some exercise, buy a recipe book and try cooking yourself instead of eating all that rubbish advertised down the street. No weight reduction programme will work without the required ‘will power’ and a change to one’s self image.

The question needs to be asked – where did personal responsibility go, as we are the architects of our own destiny. Politicians and the PC chattering class take note!
